About Our Dance School

The Michelle Louise School of Dance is based at St. Martins Church Hall in Baguley, Wythenshawe.

The Dance School was established in 2005 by Michelle Yeomans.  The school has gone from strength to strength and has continued to grow with unrivalled success. The school offers dance classes for all ages ranging from 3 year olds to adults.

Michelle Yeomans – Principle (F.B.A.T.D)

Michelle is a Fellowship Member and fully qualified teacher with The British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD) and has been teaching dance for over 15 years. She has vast experience in teaching dance to all ages and ranging abilities, in all styles of dance. Michelle is the Deputy Chairperson for the North West District of the BATD and represents the Stage and Ballet members of the district. The BATD is now a fully accredited member of the Council of Dance Education and Training (CDET).

Miss Amelia McDonald - Teacher (A.B.A.T.D)

Amelia is a qualified teacher with the BATD and is now an Associate member of the association. Amelia has danced at the school since an early age. She has a number of credits to her name including Dick Whittington, The Lowry, Salford Quays and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Opera House, Manchester, to name but a few. Over the years Amelia has competed in a number of dance festivals in Modern and Tap and has many placings to her name. While taking examinations, Amelia has also been nominated for a number of scholarships within the BATD. Amelia continues to perform for the school and is a highly valued member of the dance team. Amelia teaches the Juvenile and Junior groups and specialises in Tap and Modern Dance.

Miss Poppy O’Neil – Student Teacher

Poppy is a student teacher at the school and teaches the Starlite and Juvenile groups. Poppy is developing her knowledge and is focusing her attention on Acrobatics as well as Tap, Ballet and Modern. Poppy has danced at the school since a very young age and has many accolades to her name. She has represented the school to a very high standard competing in competitions and festivals gaining many awards from highest mark placings to festival favourites. Poppy has also been selected for scholarships with the BATD in Modern and Tap and has been selected in the top five scholarship competitors. Poppy continues to perform at the school and regularly competes at dance festivals and competitions. Poppy is looking forward to furthering her career in dance and the performing arts as a dancer and teacher.

Miss Matilda McDonald – Student Teacher

Matilda is a student teacher at the school and teaches the Juvenile and Junior groups. Matilda is developing her knowledge and understanding of dance and teaching. She has a keen interest in the technique and performance aspect of dance.

Matilda has danced at the school from a very young age and is a very accomplished dancer. Matilda competes in competitions and festivals with many placings to her name. Matilda has also received a number of scholarship nominations with the BATD from her Modern and Tap examinations. Matilda continues to perform for the school and compete in competitions with great enthusiasm and dedication.

Miss Mary Yeomans

Mary is the most important person at the school and the most valued member of our team. You will find Miss Mary at all classes answering questions and dealing with the daily running of our dance classes

Miss Mandy McDonald

You will find Mandy at all classes answering questions and assisting with administration duties. As a mum of three pupils at the school, Mandy’s knowledge and experience is invaluable to our team.
